His First Teeth (Yep, he's got 2!)

That's right! Lucas has not 1, but 2 teeth poking through. His bottom left-center tooth came in about a week ago, and not a day later the tooth next to it (his bottom right-center tooth) began cutting through also. I began noticing his mood turning from happy camper to whiny, whiny, whiny! I thought I'd take a look at his gums (because I have other family's babies who have teeth coming in), and sure enough there was his first tooth coming through!!! I layed Lucas back down on the floor, ran to the back door to call for Alex, and told him about Lucas's tooth. He immediately dropped what he was doing and ran in the house to take a look for himself. It was such a "proud father" moment :) He just looked at Lucas, gave him a kiss on the head, and said "way to go buddy"! We numb his gums a few times a day to help with the pain, but all in all, he's handling it really well. He can also roll all the way over now, from his back to his stomach, and then back again. His laugh and cry are really starting to sound 'older', more specific to him.

My younger sister, Danielle, came to visit us for a few days. Lucas was immediately smitten by her lol! Those two were attached at the hip. Any little squeak or squeal out of Lucas, and Danielle was at his side in seconds. They both have fiesty personalities so they connected immediately.
While Danielle was here, we walked around the Bountiful Temple with my Dad (pictured above). The weather was beautiful that day-a slight breeze paired with just enough sunshine. I love being on the temple grounds with Lucas.

We also bought Lucas a bouncer. We want to help him to start learning how to balance & use his feet more (right now, he likes to curl his toes up real tight any time we try to help him stand on them), and we've been told these bouncers really help. He really likes it (not love, but likes). It's definitely new to him to hold himself up and feel that 'independence' from Alex and I, but he's liking it more and more each time we place him in it to play.

In the video below, I had just placed him in the bouncer for the first time, so it's all a little new to him. I also tried getting some footage of his teeth, but he didn't like it very much :)

Come to find out, after my uncle suggested I try the sweet potatoes vs. the carrots, Lucas LOVES the sweet potatoes! They were a real hit! He'll eat about 1/2 a jar in one sitting (although I'm sure a good amount lands on his bib each time).
